Sticks and Stones

The Lord gave us such a glorious Tuesday this week! I took the kiddos and went to mom's so we could spend some time outdoors. I put Riley in the Bjorn carrier and she went directly to sleep so I was able to give Will some much needed attention for a good 1.5 hours!

Will loves to play outside and loves for someone to play with him. Don't we all? :) We walked up and down sidewalks... Picked up leaves and sticks and stones(closer to pebbles)... Watched the trash truck pick up yard waste(he loved it!)... I loved hearing "Mama" as he held up his newest found treasure(his 50th leaf or 10th stick). It was such a precious time with Will.

As I snapped pictures I was reminded of just how quickly they grow up... I want to savor every moment that I have with Will. One day I'll turn around and he will be starting school... then the next blink will reveal him driving a car... and with no recollection of where the time went, I will find him standing at the end of an isle smiling at the gorgeous, godly young woman walking to him on her daddy's arm... And then I'll be collecting sticks and stones with Will's little boy.

But for today, I just want to revel in the joy I find in taking a walk with my son...
