Treasure Chests

Blake's grandfather, Harry Riley, loves to work with wood. He is wonderful at it too! We have multiple pieces in our home that he made including a chest, an entertainment center, and a high chair. The newest additions to our Harry Riley Pieces Collection are these memory boxes. He made one for each of our children. They are absolutely beautiful and a wonderful place for me to stash momentos and random things I want to show Will and Riley when they grow up. What a chest of treasures...

Riley's box contains things like a newborn diaper, the bible from the hospital, hospital blanket, hospital hat, my packing list for the hospital, a monogrammed shirt that I bought her before she was born, her baby shower invitation, her church birth announcement... and a few other things.

Will's box contains his baby shower invitation, the outfit he was wearing when they brought him to us, a monogrammed bib, the dna test results with a picture of his biological mother, the program from his baby dedication, the letter from our lawyer with his court date for his name change and citizenship... and an assortment of other odds and ends.

wow...those are really cool. i love sentimental things like that. i have a baby doll cradle that my dad made for me when i was a baby. i guess kendall can have it now!

will and riley are so precious. i looked at will sunday night and he looks so tall all of a sudden! i guess he's getting more of a "toddler" look, huh? he's so cute.

i'm adding your blog as a link. hope you don't care. oh, and i love that bathtub picture at the top of your page!

Precious! I especially love how you put in the outfit Will was wearing when they gave him to you.
