I love Pinterest and ease with which it allows me to add new recipes to our menu planning.
There have been plenty of meals that were deleted as quickly as I pinned them, but this breakfast casserole is a keeper.
Seriously. This was wonderful!
Ingredients:
1/4 cup melted butter
2 cans Pillsbury cinnamon rolls
5 eggs
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla
3/4 cup maple syrup
*1 cup chopped pecans optional
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Melt butter and pour in an ungreased 9x13 baking dish. Seperate the rolls and cut each into 8 pieces. (Set icing aside.) Add the pieces to the pan.
Beat the eggs. Add cream, cinnamon, and vanilla to the eggs. Mix well and then pour over the cinnamon roll pieces.
Drizzle with the maple syrup(I used good ole Aunt Jemima syrup and it was still wonderful!) and add nuts with desired.
Bake for 20-28 minutes.
Microwave icing for 10-15 seconds and then drizzle on. Serve with syrup.
