4 Looks Good On You...

Will had a wonderful day on Monday! He loved the fact that the entire day revolved around him... Who doesn't? :)
Breakfast at McDonalds with Daddy

Got to get in a little slide time before they can leave

A sibling bath - They adore getting to be able to do this!

Picnic lunch while watching "Horton Hears A Who"

Our family

Mimi and Papa with the birthday boy

Cowboy Will - Not sure why it loaded wrong

We tried not to notice how much he spit as he blew out those candels! :)

Will was determined he was wearing his boots and hat into Chuck  E Cheese so that he could ride the horse!
The first time these kids ever seemed to care about tickets... I liked it better before!
I think that I find myself thinking about Will's adoption more on his birthday then any other day. I don't know if it is that I know so little about the day he was born... or the fact that he just simply wasn't born to me and yet I love him so much I am constantly forgetting. Last year I found myself almost sad about the fact that one day he would ask about the day he was born and I won't be able to answer questions like "Did it hurt" or "Did you count my fingers and toes" or "Did you cry the first time you saw me"... This year was different. I think it was a combination of being able to see how far Will has come this past year and also just the Lord changing my perspective . This year I was just overwhelmingly thankful. I was thankful for the chance to give him a bath. I was thankful for the sound of his voice as he crawled into my bed that morning and said "Mommy, I want to be 4!" I was thankful for Chuck E Cheese and the joy it brought him. I was thankful for the fact that we were able to make him feel like a "king". I was... I am most thankful for the fact that before a woman that I have never met even knew she was pregnant with the boy she named Julio Cesar, God picked me to be his mommy.

A birthday celebration isn't really about "the day you were born"... It's about the life that came after that day. I am thankful to be apart of William Thomas' life. 4 is going to be a good age for him... I can feel it!

This is my favorite line of that blog "A birthday celebration isn't really about "the day you were born"... It's about the life that came after that day."....Lydia, you just preached the gospel of our adoption in Christ. :) Even though some may not be able to remember the exact time and day, the fruit of their lives after is what counts.
