It Just Needs A Little Something...

Blake's grandfather made the china cabinet that sits in our dining room... He is such a precious man with the gift of working with his hands. We have several beautiful pieces in our home that he built.

Our dining room has kind of become mono-chromatic. Lots of whites, creams, and khackis. I love it, but I'm beginning to feel the need for splashes of color. I had wanted to pain the back of this shelf several times, but just couldn't bring myself to do something that permanent to it!
The there was wallpaper, but a tad expensive and pretty permanent too.
Fabric.
My mom had just done this project to the back of her china cabinet and had some fabric left over and offered to pretty up my cabinet as well.
Well, sure!

Mom took some old boxes she had and cut them to size... Each space had to be measured carefully.

Using spray adhesive she attached the fabric to the cut box.

Fold over the sides and press firmly.

Oh, yeah! Be sure to mark the fabric so that your pattern matches when you place them.

Trim the extra fabric from the back to that the board will smoothly fit to the back of the shelf.

Ahhh... Just a little something. Just what we needed.
