Poor Riley has had about 7 UTI's since Aug, including one this past weekend!
We loaded Riley up in the van at 6:00am yesterday morning and drove to downtown Kosairs Children's Hospital. Her surgery was at 8:00am. Basically, they injected a substance into the corners of her bladder that lead to her kidneys to block the urine from traveling back up and causing a UTI or kidney infection. The dr was very hopeful that this will take care of the problem. In 3 months she will have a series of testing done to ensure that the reflux is solved and if not she will require a more invasive surgery.
Thank you for your prayers! Thank you for your texts. Thank you for your calls and offers of meals. After a quiet day full of pain killers, Riley seems to be about back to normal today. The wonders of modern medicine!
